Remembrance Ride 2021 - Ypres, Belgium

Saturday 13th to Monday 15th November 2021

For 2021 we are running a trip to Ypres, Belgium the home of the Menin Gate. Due to the shortage of hotel rooms in Ypres, participants will need to book a hotel room as soon as possible.

HOTEL BOOKING
The primary hotel is the Novotel Ieper Centrum Flanders Field, any other hotel in the town centre will also be OK, it’s a small town. You will need to book for two nights, check-in 13th November check-out 15th November. Once you have a confirmed hotel booking please email Steve Graham with your Name, H.O.G. Number and the name of the hotel you are booked into.

GENERAL INFORMATION
Meeting at the Eurotunnel mid-morning on Saturday we will arrive in Calais around mid-day. Weather and road conditions will dictate the route to Ypres, which is around 60 miles from Calais.

Full details will be confirmed closer to the departure date.

WARNING
This ride is in mid-November and the weather can be very cold, wet and uncomfortable. Please bear this in mind before deciding on attending.

It is highly recommended that you pop along to the Warr’s boutique and check out their range of heated clothing.

Important information & Chapter requirements for a C&F and Meridian H.O.G. overseas trips:

• Rider to hold a C&F or Meridian Chapter membership card and be a member of H.O.G. with a current H.O.G. membership card. This is a requirement to participate in ALL Chapter ride outs
• Pillion passengers must hold a minimum of current H.O.G. associate membership and hold a C&F or Meridian Chapter membership card.
• Have completed a C&F Event Release Form and handed it to the Ride Leader before departure.
• It is also important to familiarise yourself with the ‘Buddy System’ style of riding as well as the general etiquette of riding overseas with C&F H.O.G..
