HOGS Legs 2024

After a few years rest, we are delighted to announce the return of HOGS Legs for 2024, on Friday 28th June.

The idea behind this event is to encourage members who have never taken the opportunity to ride overseas to have a gentle introduction to touring. As such, we would like to give priority to those who have less experience of riding on the wrong side of the road, or using Eurotunnel.

The basic plan is to leave from Eurotunnel Folkestone reasonably early, and take a scenic route to Ypres in Belgium for lunch. We will return to Coquelles, taking a slightly longer way back, for our arrival in Folkestone early on Friday evening.

To give everyone a flavour of continental riding, we will use a small amount of motorway (toll-free), some fast ‘A-roads’ and some smaller rural roads. Expect the total distance Coquelles-to-Coquelles to be about 150 miles, plus your mileage to and from Folkestone.

In the first instance, if you are interested in this event, please reply to me at HOGSLegs24@Papas.co.uk, with the following simple details -

• Your name
• Your HOG chapter
• Your HOG membership number
• Your C&F/Meridian membership number (you MUST be a member to enter this event)
• Your previous experience of riding overseas (how many trips, for example)
• Your Harley-Davidson motorcycle model (and approximate fuel range)
• Your mobile number

If you have some previous experience, but still fancy a day out, please feel free to register, but be aware that numbers for this event are strictly limited, will be prioritised on experience and are on a ‘first-come-first-served’ basis.

I will advise you, in due course, if your registration has been accepted, at which point I will share details of train times, and so on.
