Laid Back Loir
22nd-24th July 2011
We are returning for the third time to the picturesque valley of Le Loir where there are plenty of good roads we have not yet ridden. Those who have been on previous rides will know that riding here is like riding through the wine list of a good French restaurant - many familiar names and temptations!
This year we’ll be staying in the Hotel de France in La Chartre-sur-le-Loir. It has an excellent restaurant and a pool - and typical Gallic service - so you need to be ‘Laid Back’. It is also the hotel once favoured by the Aston Martin 24 hour race teams.
As in previous years we will arrange a rendezvous on Friday lunch time for ferry users and tunnelers.
This run is intended to be relaxed and laid back - a gentle rumble through the area of rural France known as “Le Jardin de France” because of its excellent agricultural produce - which of course we will sample.
We’ll take life as it comes and decide on the Saturday run depending on weather and collective appetite for mileage.
We have five more rooms available so places on this run will be limited and allocated on a first come first served basis. Please contact Cap’n Beakey at Biker1600@btinternet.com to reserve your slot.
This is an official ride and qualifies towards the C&F riders patch and Precious Metal Rockers, more here.
Ride leader: Richard Beake - C&F Road Captain
